I hadn't got on with the Matt papers, preferring the Silk/lustre/semi- gloss Baryta. When I bought the printer years ago it came with a large box of Permajet and Hannemule Matt papers in A3, several hundred sheets. Subsequent attempts produced sheets with thick black ink on all the edges. It was also evident that the head was striking the side of the sheet despite the platen gap being set at widest. However a second print came out with fine lines top to bottom, and a third with the same lines and much too much ink being laid down. I ran a couple of cleaning cycles, and made a successful print on a sheet of 310g Pinnacle Premium Silk Baryta, of which I have a lot. It remains temperamental, repeatedly refusing to feed the paper, until suddenly it does.

There's a work around for the code - it relates to a small spring in the bowels of the feed mechanism, but I can't find it.Īnyway, in desperation yesterday (I have some print orders to fulfill) I had another go at the latter machine, switched it on, and lo and behold, the fault code had gone. It had a series of paper feed failures, then finally gave me a fault code. I can't find any solution on the Web, so have given up on it.

One works perfectly, except that it doesn't lay any ink on the paper, though it uses ink and the maintenance cart fills. I've got two Epson SP 3800 printers, both of which died or are in recusitation.
